A legal dispute can be costly, damaging and disruptive.
Cutting the time and cost
With Centre for Justice disputes are resolved quickly and cost effectively.
We use a straightforward and streamlined process. We appoint an assessor, who is an experienced lawyer, to investigate the dispute and make an award which binds the parties. He or she deals directly with the parties. There are no complex procedures or formal hearings. There is no need for legal representation. The cost is shared between the parties.
This substantially reduces the time and cost involved.
Controlling risk
Litigation is unpredictable and high risk.
With the Centre, you will be given clear time and cost estimates at the outset. As you are dealing with the assessor direct, you can ask for an early indication of his or her view of the case. This will enable you to assess the likely outcome and risk from an early stage.
Reliability
Our assessors are well recognised lawyers chosen for their experience and expertise. They use a robust and reliable process of investigation working with you to understand your case and establish the facts.
Practical solutions
The assessor can help you to explore practical solutions to your problem through mediation at any time during the case. This can help you achieve a positive outcome satisfactory to both parties.
Independence
We are an independent not for profit organisation. The assessors appointed to handle your case are impartial and themselves independent from the Centre.
Final and binding outcome
Whether an agreement is reached through mediation or your assessor investigates and makes an award, the outcome will be final and legally binding and will dispose of the dispute.
Confidentiality
The process is confidential and no evidence or findings will be made public without your agreement.
